Bernard Hermier considers this butterfly, collected at la Ceiba (NE of San Francisco) to be Cephise impunctus, on the basis of the positioning of the FW white markings, even though the shape of these markings is different, and the apical dots are missing.


but... if the presence in Ecuador of a species known exclusively from Rondonia and the Brazilian Atlantic Coast is quite possible, its presence on the Pacific side, West of the Andes, in an area typically "Choco", remains quite unlikely.


we'll have to find more specimens particularly males ; but we never saw one so far.
