Autochton zarex cerca de Guachalá (Quinindé), las Golondrinas, Pichincha, Puerto Quito, Guallupe, las Juntas.


on the mating pair pictured at Guachalá the female (right) seems to be Autochton zarex allright, but, on the male FW white stripe one can see the black dot typical of Autochton longipennis, so ? we'll never know... one of the two butterflies is slightly aberrant ? it is a mating between two different species, exceedingly rare but seen already ? the black dot is not diagnostic between zarex and longipennis ?...
