there is no doubt that this butterfly, pictured by Esteban Suarez in Greater Quito and by Irina Cuesta Soto on Cerro Ilalo and by Angele Herrera at Salinas (Imbabura), is Thespieus macareus, although this species seems not to be known from Ecuador... and same thing, with a small question mark, for Marie Tarrant picture near Monte Olivo.
